The team at HealthTech startup AssistMe Digital Health System GmbH (AssistMe), which is working on an intelligent and connected incontinence pant, has raised financing from healthcare investors and thought leaders, Die BrückenKöpfe.
Harm van Maanen, Managing Partner at Die BrückenKöpfe, is excited about the potential of AssistMe’s solution saying: “Incontinence care is a much larger part of the daily care process than people might think, with many associated problems. We are happy that AssistMe is tackling this field and that we can help them on their journey.”
Since its start in early 2017, HealthTech startup AssistMe has focused on providing integrated solutions for the adult incontinence market, which has been growing steadily and is expected to continue growing due to ageing populations in developed countries. In some countries like Japan, the sales volume of incontinence pants for adults has already surpassed that of newborns.
Jens Grudno, founder and CEO of AssistMe: “Developing technological innovation to better care for the people who once cared for us is extremely satisfying. Especially if you have relatives or friends in need of care, you will strongly sympathize with our initiative."
AssistMe expects all stakeholders to benefit from the development of their smart incontinence pant. These versatile advantages include:
Minimizing incontinence-related medical issues, such as urinary tract and skin infections
Helping people in need of care to regain their dignity
Reducing unnecessary costs for families, care institutions, and insurers while decreasing stressful work for healthcare workers
AssistMe’stechnical solutions allow an independent lifestyle for elderly people and people in need of home care. Beyond this aim, our products have a positive ethical and social impact, and a large business potential due to an underserved and growing market. We make sure that all stakeholders benefit from our solutions.
